Why This Matters
Back in 2020, we had an important decision to make. After contemplating we asked ourselves; why do we want to breed anatolians? We determined we wanted to breed dogs to preserve the Anatolian Shepherd dog in Canada by providing Canadians with registered, healthy, and reliable livestock guardian and family acreage dogs.
What is a preservation breeder?
A preservation breeder is someone who is dedicated to honouring the history of the breed. They are not breeding "just to breed". For Anatolians, they want to see the true working breed continue for generations. They prioritise keeping the breed as similar to the original Turkish lines, particularly in working ability, while striving to improve. They do this through breeding Anatolians that will strengthen the breed in health, conformation, and temperament.
What makes us a preservation breeder?
We strive to be a preservation breeder and hope to see the Anatolian breed continue and improve throughout Canada. Our dogs are out with the livestock 24/7, allowing them to do what they are bred to do. Excellent working ability and instincts are our number one priority. From there, we seek to improve the breed by breeding for sound health, temperaments, and conformation. Although this isn't the easier route, we do it because we love the breed and want to preserve the true breed.
Why Choose Us?
Health Tested
We prioritise the quality of our puppies through OFA and PennHIP testing all of our breeding dogs, and only breeding dogs with adequate results. This minimises the chances of hip/elbow dysplasia being passed down to their offspring, saving our buyers thousands of dollars.
Registered
We prioritise reliability through only breeding fully registered dogs and registering all puppies within the litter. This ensures we are truly breeding Anatolians and no other breed has been added along the way. We can also track lineage and ensure we are only introducing lineage which will benefit the breed.
Supportive
We prioritise successful ownership through staying in touch and supporting every buyer through any challenges they may encounter with their puppy. We are an ASDCA code of ethics breeder and are committed to supporting every buyer and assisting them in re-homing if ever necessary.
Intentional
We prioritise well-tempered dogs through intentionally breeding Anatolians with supreme guardian instincts, personalities, and trainability. This is done by strict evaluations and years of having each dog prove themself to us. Litters are planned years upon years in advance to produce the best Anatolian we can.
